It may sound like a cliché, but I am VERY proud to be an American! Yes, we have our problems, but we are still the greatest country on earth. Today I listened to the moving song, ‘God Bless the USA.’ The accompanying video moved me to tears with photos of the twin towers, soldiers being laid to rest, and military members saluting our American flag. I’m listening to a CD now of traditional patriotic tunes.
I’m proud of each member of our military—every branch from new recruits to our WWII veterans. My goal this summer is to interview one WWII vet each week. So far, I’m keeping up and feel honored by the men and women willing to speak with me about their experiences.

If you know of a WWII vet who would like to be interviewed about their military experience, please email me

These are photos of two special men in my life: My husband who served 21 years in the Air Force. He retired in 2007.
Our son Chris is a pilot in the Air Force. I couldn’t be more proud of them. They are very proud of our country and have worked hard to promote safety in our nation.
Speaking for our family, we hope each military person will know on this 4th of July that they are appreciated and loved.
