Here is a great way for churches to minister to families at the beginning of a school year. If it’s too late to get something going at your church, focus on a single family who needs help and assist as you’re able. God will bless your efforts.

Students needing backpacks and supplies for the beginning of the school year may select one at a free carnival to be held at the 4-H park in Bluffton on August 6 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Any elementary school age student attending a Wells county school, including home school and Christian, are eligible. According to event coordinator Becky Miller from the First Church of Christ, each backpack will contain pencils, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, index cards, rulers, and giveaways, many of which were donated by individuals and area churches. The event will include a meal for students and families and games. “We want to help families who may be overwhelmed at the cost of sending children to school this fall,” said Miller.
The church plans to distribute 500 backpacks. For more information about the backpacks, call Becky Miller at beckymiller@viginc.net.
The end
Hey Mrs. Reusser, How old are the kids?
Reinhart, I don’t know what you mean. If you mean the kids in the Indonesia book, they are all between Grades 4-8. Have a great day!
